Be Still My Heart

So, Serena has a heart murmur. A couple weeks ago, I took her in for a routine well-visit and the doctor noticed a heart murmur. She said they're usually nothing, in fact about 60% of kids have murmurs that they outgrow. In Serena's case, however, the murmur was in a spot she wasn't used to hearing one. So she set us up with a cardiology appointment. The cardiologist's office called last night to say they had a last minute opening for today. We took it and Serena and I were off to see the doctor this morning. The children's hospital is amazing! It is so very nice and kid friendly and modern and wonderful. They have super security too, which can be very comforting. So, after finding our way to the right office, Serena got all checked out with 4 different people listening to her heart. The consensus is that, yes she does have a murmur, but it doesn't sound like a valve defect, therefore, it's nothing to worry about! :) Ah, adventures in parenting strikes again.
